Ask Not????

Just think, 50 years ago today President John F Kennedy was  inaugurated .  His speech had the famous line of "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country".  Grand ideals for the sixties.  We were coming out of the Korean Conflict and the beginning of Vietnam.  President Kennedy felt that the country could be better served by the population performing national service, ala The CCC's of the Roosevelt era.   But in  recent times, it has come up that the reverse is now the opposite.  In a recent poll, 71% of respondents state that they want more from their country.  In today's consumer society, more of the country is interested in getting  something without giving back.  We must now realize that giving back to our nation, in whatever way, should be of major importance.  In the "nanny" state of the current administration, we must also be responsible for the growth of the nation and it's growth as a nation with pride.  This has to be done with a care that improves with age of it's population.  We must respond  with  dilligence for all people.

Well, that's one guys rant....WHAT DO YOU THINK?????
